Reading a hydro meter only looks complicated. It's really very simple. All you have to do is write down the correct numbers from the dials, starting at the left-hand side and reading right. If the dial needle is between numbers, record the lower of the two, but if one of the dial needles appears to be exactly on a number, the dial to its right determines the correct reading. In these instances, check to see if the dial to the right has passed the zero. If it hasn't, record the lower number.
